Five on Friday

Today I am joining in with the lovely Amy at Love Made My Home for Five on Friday.
I thought I would share five really great things  from the last few weeks that have made me a very happy person indeed.
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who left lovely messages on my last post. They mean such a lot and it was so heart warming to read them all.
Of course, my first happy has to be our wedding!
What can I say? In the beautiful city of Edinburgh. It was everything we had hoped for and more. The perfect day for us.
The second is my blanket. I'm sorry I didn't get chance for a grand ta dah! moment in the week before the wedding as I was busy chasing my tail with final arrangements and packing etc. Needless to say it was completed in good time and is as warm and snuggly as a blanket should be.
Thirdly, imagine my surprise to discover I had won our very own Amy's giveaway for this simply gorgeous drawstring bag. As someone who never wins anything this felt great. It  arrived beautifully packaged and included  a bar of delicious chocolate (how did you guess?) and a handwritten card. Thank you so much Amy. You are so very talented. I am using the bag every day.

So I was even more shocked to discover I had won another giveaway! A fantastic book about bread making from Fast-SOS blog. As bread making is something I have neglected for some time now I am really looking forward to testing out some different recipes.

And last but by no means least I must mention the beautiful gift I received through the post this week. Lovely Selma (or the 'Christmas Lady' as she is known as in this house) from Eclectic Home and Life blog sent this gorgeous Nordic light as a wedding gift.
It has pride of place on our mantel now that little fingers are capable of leaving things alone.
Thank you, again, Selma. It is beautiful.

As you can see I have had a very fortunate and blessed few weeks recently. Thank you to everyone who has had a part in this.

Please do take a look at all the other blogs which have joined in the Five on Friday link up and thank you to Amy for hosting.

Getting Ready

This weekend is going to be very special. I'm going to marry my best friend,  the daddy of my gorgeous girl and the one who will make me a cracking brew any time I ask.
Neither of us wanted a large traditional affair so we have planned a small Register Office wedding followed by a meal in a lovely restaurant, then drinks back at our hotel.

We are hoping for a relaxed and enjoyable day, full of love, surrounded by our families.

The final numbers have been confirmed, mine and Lily's dresses are hung up and I've (sort of) decided how I'm wearing my hair.
It's going to be such an exciting day but more exciting than that is the future we have together.
